Kickstarter backers, late pledgers, and curious passers-by; welcome to the pledge manager for Solomon Kane.
Solomon Kane is a highly immersive narrative board game featuring exceptional 35mm miniatures. It brings to life the adventures of Robert E. Howard's Puritan avenger, who travels the world facing down evil armed only with his unshakeable faith in the righteousness of his cause. It is a 1-4 player true co-operative game in which the players guide Solomon Kane, playing as manifestations of his faith in the form of the Four Cardinal Virtues. Utilising a card and dice resource management system, the players must work closely together to ensure that Solomon prevails over the Darkness. The core pledge also contains a specialist Solo mode and a Versus mode in which one player takes on the role of Darkness, increasing the maximum player count to 5.
This pledge manager is where you'll select the rewards that you pledged for during the Kickstarter campaign, and where you'll also pay for shipping. It's also another chance to pick up add-ons, and even additional Puritan Pledges. Just select everything you want and then pay the balance. You will pay immediately rather than at the end of the pledge manager, and you can return later to buy more items. If you are an Early Bird backer then make sure that additional Puritan Pledges you choose to get are also the Early Birld version. If you backed for No Reward and did not select a pledge level then you can upgrade to the Puritan Pledge should you wish.
For anyone who did not back in the Kickstarter campaign but would still like to get a pledge then you can do so on this pledge manager. Simply select the Puritan Pledge, then any add-ons you wish to purchase. All of the items which were available during the campaign are available in the late pledge also. More detailed information on the Puritan Pledge and the add-ons can be found below and under the Product Preview tab, and you can also check out the Kickstarter campaign page here. On the add-on selection screen when taking a pledge you will find a link provided with each add-on that will take you to its dedicated Kickstarter update page.
All of Robert E. Howard's Solomon Kane stories, as well as some fragments, have been adapted for the game, in addition to some entirely original Adventures which have been created especially for it. Each Adventure is broken down into one or more Acts, with each Act comprising exactly 10 Chapters. The shortest Adventures, such as The Right Hand of Doom, comprise only a single Act, which can be played in one long gaming session, or thanks to the game's 'save' mechanic, can be played over several shorter sessions. The longer Adventures string two or more Acts together, with the continent-spanning Red Shadows comprising five Acts for an epic campaign.
The core Puritan Pledge contains eight Adventures comprised of 12 Acts, and including all of the add-ons, there are 17 Adventures comprised of 35 Acts. Should you be interested in getting them all then check out the Virtuous bundle which offers everything from the Kickstarter campaign at a discount.
By popular request, we have added three new add-ons for the pledge manager. A 120cm by 90cm neoprene playmat, a card sleeve bundle which is sufficient to sleeve every card in the Puritan Pledge and the Right Hand of Doom, and another card sleeve bundle which is enough to sleeve every card in the game. Note that these items are not included in the Virtuous bundle. The neoprene mat will be large enough to accommodate any tile layout required by a Chapter card.
Both Kickstarter backers and late pledgers will pay for shipping here in this pledge manager. The shipping costs are calculated based upon the total weight of all items in the pledge and is charged at cost. If additional items are later added to a pledge for which shipping has already been paid for, then this may increase the shipping costs, and the difference will be paid when paying for the additional items.
The European Union, USA, Canada, and Australia will be “Shipping Friendly”. Backers from these countries will not pay import taxes.
The Puritan Pledge contains at least 30-36 hours (34-40 for the EB Puritan Pledge) of gameplay. This figure is based on 4 players completing each Adventure once. However, there is no reason to stop at a single play, and there will still be much more to explore and enjoy.
You can find a breakdown of Adventures, Acts and Chapters later in this FAQ.
Early Bird backers get everything from the Puritan Pledge, plus a bonus Adventure; The Right Hand of Doom, which comes with its own set of miniatures, Chapter cards, and Discovery cards.
If you did not back with the Early Bird option, you can still add The Right Hand of Doom Adventure as a $10 Add-On.
Yes. If you pledged for an Early Bird copy of Solomon Kane, you will have an option to add additional Early Bird copies of the game during the Pledge Manager.
The miniatures are a true 35mm scale (measuring from the base to eye level), however, this size in recent years is more commonly related to "Heroic" 32mm and even 28mm miniatures from various games.

Solomon Kane is very re-playable. In the co-op game you can play as different Virtues, and with different combinations of Virtues in varying player counts.
Many Chapters have different entrance points and outcomes that change the Acts every time you play. Sometimes this change is subtle, and sometimes it leads to a radically different destiny.
You will also have the option to add Nightmare Cards to your game which can tailor the difficulty for those who like even more challenge.
Yes, there are several ways to play the game as a solo player. The first is to play all of the Virtues yourself as if you were playing a multiplayer game. The second is to play as a single Virtue but to have one-time use access to all of the other Virtues cards which are laid out face up on the table.
Finally, there is Providence play mode. Providence is our single player Virtue who was unlocked when the campaign reached $250k. Providence has her own dashboard, unique play style, abilities, and rules. She completely replaces the original 4 Virtues when used.
An Adventure is one Of Robert E Howards’ Solomon Kane stories from start to finish. Blue Flame of Vengeance, Red Shadows, Rattle of Bones, Wings in the Night, and Death’s Black Riders are all Adventures.
As Howard's stories are of various lengths, so are his Adventures in Solomon Kane.
Each Adventure is broken down into one or more Acts. Each Act is divided into 10 Chapters and equates to a single long game session, (4-6 hours although games can be saved in the game box if your group does not have that long).
A single chapter can be either a story or a scene and can have several different variants (3A,3B,3C etc). Each variant changes the storyline based upon the player’s progress thus far and can affect your starting position in the following chapter.
A scene is like a scene in a movie. It is one of the important moments where a key fight, conversation, search, flight, pursuit, or similar takes place. These are played with miniatures on the board.
A story is a narrative link between scenes. Although the Virtues still make moves during a Story this is played off the board and is often a chance to discuss further tactics before moving on.
So, if you played a whole Act in your gaming session, you would typically play through 5-6 scenes, and interleave some story chapters between them.
Each scene chapter is like a mini-scenario.
Solomon Kane is available in English or French.
We are looking at various ways of providing other languages. This might be as a language pack, or as a fan-based online translation. At present we do not expect to resolve this completely before the end of the campaign. As soon as we have a solution we will announce it.
